The Universal Standard: The Moral Yardstick
We must recognise a fundamental truth: as the world turns, humanity is in a constant state of testing, resulting in either blessings or curses.
The commandments of our Creator are the ultimate moral yardstick for humanity. These standards were written not only on tablets of stone, but directly into every person. They serve as both a guide to blessing and a witness against us when we choose wrong.
Even without the Torah (Law), we inherently know that murder, rape, and theft are wrong. The Creator has written His Law on our consciences as an inner moral compass — one that either aligns us with His just ways or will testify against us on the Day of Judgment.
While this standard is imprinted within every person, it
was also recorded in the physical world to show us the consequences of our choices. To reveal this truth clearly, our Creator chose to enter into a specific Covenant with the Hebrew people — a light to the nations — as the means to reveal Himself and His ways to all humanity.
Therefore, faith in Him, the Prophets, and the Messiah is a vital factor for the believer; it is the bridge that connects our belief with our actions, unlocking the fullness of the Creator’s blessings in this life, and the promise of eternal life. And with this mindset, I shall continue.
Deuteronomy 28 clearly lays out the blessings and curses that follow when people either obey or disobey these moral commandments that our Creator has imprinted within us and gave through Moses.
Before moving forward, it is important to understand this key principle: the way the Almighty YaHuWaH dealt with Israel and Judah in Scripture and history is the same way He deals with every nation and people.
The Messiah: Our Sole Teacher
I firmly believe it is not my place to define the truth of salvation. That role belongs only to our amazing Messiah, Yahshua. He alone is our Teacher, Rabbi, High Priest, Shepherd, and Saviour. Therefore, I choose not to teach my own ideas, but to point people directly to his words.
Since the time of the Messiah, a flood of dogma and false doctrines have entered the world. Our heavenly Father allows false prophets to arise to test the sincerity of our hearts Deuteronomy 13:3-4 and 18:20-21. We see this in the example of Balaam, the false prophet who tricked the Israelites into idolatry and child sacrifice to Baal!
🔥
This is why we must keep our full attention on the words of Yahshua. Men like Martin Luther, Joseph Smith, and the self-appointed apostle Saul (also known as Paul) are not our teachers.
I find true peace in obeying the Messiah’s own command: “Nor are you to be called ‘Teachers’, because you have only one Teacher, the Messiah!” Matthew 23:10
Our Father’s instructions are as clear as they can be: “For this commandment I give you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach... the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it”. — Deuteronomy 30:11-14
Dismantling the Abolished Ideology
There is a ridiculous notion that the Messiah came to release us from obeying the commandments simply because they were deemed too difficult or merely a foreshadowing. These ideologies directly oppose Yahshua’s actual teachings.
When I look at the 45,000 denominations and the constant division within the faith, it is clear that something is fundamentally wrong with mainstream teachings.
Consider the parable of the House on the Rock in Matthew 7:24-27. The house that stands is the one built by the man who hears his words and does them. This vital teaching is far too often dismissed with the claim that “Jesus fulfilled everything at the cross”.
However, the Greek word used for “fulfil” is pléroó, meaning to “complete” or “fill up” — it does not mean to “end” or “abolish”. Such ideas directly contradict Yahshua’s own words.
He clearly stated: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to complete” as recorded in Matthew 5:17. Since heaven and earth have not yet passed away, the Law remains in force.
It makes no sense to claim that Yahshua said he did not come to destroy the Law, while at the same time believing His mission was to terminate it 🧐
Yahshua reinforces this continuance in the Book of Revelation, where He makes it clear that every soul will be judged according to their works — Revelation 2:23, 2:26, 3:8, 20:12
The Choice: Truth or Tradition?
The ultimate truth is that our Messiah, in perfect alignment with the Prophets before him, taught repentance from sin and obedience to the commandments — a truth confirmed in the final book of the Bible: “Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life” Revelation 22:14
Why then does much of the church promote “faith alone” — a concept the Messiah never once taught? I have dedicated a separate page (linked below) to examining the writings of Paul, and how they have shaped mainstream doctrine.
We will examine how his writings have been leveraged by Rome and the church to establish the largest religion and greatest deceit in history. Was he truly a “wolf in sheep’s clothing”? 🐺
The evidence for salvation through a lived and obedient faith is overwhelming: Matthew 5:17-20, Matthew 7:21-23, Matthew 19:17, Mark 7:7-9, James 1:22-25, 1 John 5:3, 1 John 3:4, 1 John 3:21-22, 2 John 1:6, and Revelation 14:12
When you include the twenty-four books of the Tanakh, it becomes undeniable. Every single book teaches that repentance and obedience to His commandments are the only path to blessings in this life — a path which leads to resurrection into eternal life.
“If you wish to enter into life, obey the commandments” — Matthew 19:17
I don’t think the Messiah could make it any clearer, do you?
